Joselu’s tweet about Real Madrid from 2012 has resurfaced after his Champions League heroics.

On Wednesday night, 14-time Champions League winners Madrid hosted Bayern Munich for the second leg of their semi-final clash.

Alphonso Davies’s brilliant right-footed strike gave Bayern the lead in the 68th minute but Thomas Tuchel’s men were stunned by two late goals in the closing stages.

Second-half substitute Joselu, who was only brought on in the 81st minute scored in the 88th and 91st minute to complete a remarkable comeback for Los Blancos.

After the match, a tweet which was posted back in 2012 by Joselu resurfaced.

It read in Spanish: “Alguien me puede dar un link bueno para ver el Madrid?” which translates to “Can someone give me a good link to watch Madrid?”

The 34-year-old was also present in Paris for the 2022 Champions League final when Madrid beat Liverpool 1-0 to clinch their 14th European crown.

Prior to his transfer to Madrid, Joselu was branded as a Premier League flop after he scored just four goals in 27 matches for Stoke City and seven in 52 appearances for Newcastle United.

After leaving the Magpies, Joselu played for Alaves and Espanyol before joining Madrid on loan for the 23/24 season.

The Spaniard has since scored 17 goals in 46 matches for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

Speaking after the match, Ancelotti said: “It happened again here, it’s quite useful that in the Bernabeu, with the support of our supporters, we can do something unexpected.

“Joselu did a fantastic job, he’s a fantastic striker. We could use the wings more to put in crosses and we did really well, we had a lot of energy at the end of the game.”

Meanwhile, teammate Jude Bellingham said: “I’ve always said it doesn’t matter who scores the goals. I don’t think he’ll be sleeping much tonight - he’ll be useless in training tomorrow!

“Nah, honestly, he deserves it. He’s been an amazing member of the squad the whole season. This is his night.”
