The Champions League knockout phase play-off has been simulated ahead of Friday's official draw and it has thrown up some huge ties for the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Eight teams have qualified for the next round of the Champions League following Wednesday's games.

Arsenal topped the standings after winning each of their eight fixtures, ahead of Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Tottenham.

Barcelona, Chelsea, Sporting CP and Manchester City have also secured their places in the last-16.

A further 16 teams qualified for the play-off phase, but we don't know who they will face.

They will go head-to-head in two-legged play-off games to determine which eight will progress as unseeded sides for the last-16.

There's no country protection, meaning teams from the same national association can play against each other. Teams who faced one another in the league phase can also be drawn together.

Champions League knockout phase play-off simulated draw

Ahead of Friday's official draw ceremony at UEFA's headquarters in Switzerland, we have put the 16 teams who finished ninth to 24th in the league phase in a simulator to determine the play-off draw.

And it has produced some tasty ties for 15-time winners Real and holders PSG.

Real missed out on a top eight spot after succumbing to Benfica in dramatic circumstances.

Jose Mourinho's team secured a famous 4-2 victory, with goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin scoring a stoppage-time winner.

And the simulator has paired them again in the knockout phase play-off, while PSG have been handed an all-French clash against AS Monaco.

As for Newcastle United, the simulator has drawn them with Qarabag, who conceded six goals against Liverpool.

Check out the simulated knockout phase play-off ties below:

Inter Milan vs. Bodo/Glimt

Paris Saint-Germain vs. AS Monaco

Atletico Madrid vs. Club Brugge

Juventus vs. Galatasaray

Bayer Leverkusen vs. Olympiakos

Atalanta vs. Borussia Dortmund

Newcastle United vs. Qarabag

Real Madrid vs. Benfica

When will the knockout phase play-off ties take place?

Both the first and second legs will be played in February.

The first legs will take place on February 17/18, while the second legs are scheduled for February 24/25.

Once the knockout phase play-off ties are in the books, the draw for the last-16, quarter-finals and semi-finals will be held on February 27.

Liverpool - Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Club Brugge, Galatasaray
