We're not sure Carragher expected this one.

The CBS Sports panel were left speechless after American YouTuber and online streamer IShowSpeed brought up Jamie Carragher's own goal record during a debate about Cristiano Ronaldo.

IShowSpeed, real name Darren Watkins, was invited to appear on CBS' Champions League coverage by Thierry Henry at last month's 2025 Match for Hope charity game in Qatar.

The 20-year-old accepted Henry's invite and on Wednesday night, he took part in an entertaining feature on the much-loved Golazo show alongside the former Arsenal striker, as well as Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards.

Here, the man with over 36 million YouTube subscribers touched on a number of subjects, but the biggest talking point was a discussion around Cristiano Ronaldo being the greatest of all time.

As you can see from the footage below, Carragher begins the segment with a couple of questions. "What's this Ronaldo obsession? Where's that come from?" he asked. "Because he's not the best player of all time..."

Speed, who often declares his admiration for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, replied: "I think Ronaldo is the GOAT. I don't know if y'all agree with that. Everybody has their own opinion. He's my inspiration, even when it comes to YouTube."

Carragher then asked if Ronaldo was better than Lionel Messi.

Speed hit back, saying: "Yes, I do. I say that because Ronaldo played in the Premier League, La Liga and Serie A. He dominated in all of those leagues. Messi played in one league."

Carragher would go on to ask why Messi has more Ballon d'Or's than the Portuguese forward, which brought the following response from Speed. "Let's me ask you this," he said. "Who has more goals?"

The former Liverpool defender quipped "Own goals?"

And without hesitation, Speed brought up Carragher's own goal record, which took many by surprise. "Let's not talk about your own goals," the American smiled. "Because you got more own goals than goals."

In total, Carragher scored seven own goals in England's top flight, which puts him second on the list of players with the most own goals in Premier League history. In fact, only Richard Dunne scored more.

Here's how fans reacted to Speed clapping back at Carragher.

One said: "Can’t believe he cooked Carragher with that own goal joke LMFAOOOOOOO he knows ball," while another commented: "Even IShowSpeed knows about Jamie Carragher's own goals."

A third wrote: "Someone fed Speed with Carragher's own goal record, it's like he expected Carragher to be rough with him."

A fourth said: "Speed ain't wrong. Jamie carragher has got more own goals than goals," and a fifth added: "Carragher just got humbled by Speed."
