Jamie Carragher reveals why PSG manager Luis Enrique refuses to speak to him ahead of Champions League final

"That didn't go down particularly well with Luis."

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique is refusing to speak to Jamie Carragher and the CBS Sports team following an incident that took place during last season's Champions League campaign.

It is arguably the biggest night in PSG's history. Five years after falling at the last hurdle, the French champions will be hoping to lift their first Champions League title on Saturday night, when they take on Inter Milan at the Allianz Arena, Munich.

Can they do it? "It's going to be great if we get that trophy," said manager Luis Enrique, who was speaking to TNT Sports ahead of this weekend's game. "Making history was the plan from the first day."

PSG are certainly the favourites to secure what many believe is the biggest silverware of the season, and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher is hoping they manage to overcome Milan in the showpiece event.

"I actually hope PSG just do it, because they've been more entertaining as a team this season," he said on The Overlap US YouTube channel. "But I'd be absolutely delighted for Inter Milan as well, I think the manager is fantastic."

In that same video, Carragher was asked to name his favourite post-match interviewee, which is when the subject of Enrique – and why he won't speak to him – cropped up in conversation.

"Luis Enrique, at the moment, won't speak to us," Carragher told the It's Called Soccer podcast. "Because last season, I was in Dortmund when his team lost to Borussia Dortmund - PSG lost - and I was in the mixed zone with a Borussia Dortmund scarf on, so that didn't go down particularly well with Luis."

The incident in question took place in May last year, after Paris Saint-Germain made the trip to Germany to face Dortmund in the Champions League semi-final first leg.

A first-half goal from Niclas Fullkrug sealed a 1-0 win for the hosts, but one of the main talking points was former Liverpool defender Carragher, who spent much of the evening in the 'Yellow Wall' with a group of Dortmund fans.

In fact, after sinking eight pints during the game, he conducted an interview with Player of the Match Jadon Sancho alongside a far-more-sober Peter Schmeichel, who first revealed Enrique's snub whilst on air.

"In all seriousness, he's in the sin bin," said Schmeichel at the time. "Seriously, he's upset every person here. First of all, were supposed to have Luis Enrique. And he came in and said, 'Hello' and then he left because Jamie was wearing a Dortmund scarf."

Schmeichel added: "Then because we took Jadon Sancho in, the press officer from Dortmund got a bit cross with us because that was not on the list. We've been very naughty. And I hope it's been good content."

Will Enrique engage with Carragher and the CBS team following Saturday's final? We'll just have to wait and see.
