The Spaniard said after the match: “I want to announce that on June 30 I will no longer continue as the coach at Barça. I think the situation needs to change course, and as a culer, I cannot allow the current situation.”
Now, it has been reported that Xavi was told to forget about three signings that he was assured would happen.
According to Spanish news outlet SPORT, Xavi wanted the club to sign Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich, Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva and Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.

It was claimed that Xavi saw Zubimendi as the long-term replacement for club legend Sergio Busquets, who left to reunite with Lionel Messi at Inter Miami.
However, during the summer transfer window, the confidence in landing the three key signings began to drop.
Eventually, it is believed that Barcelona sporting director Deco ended up telling Xavi to forget about Kimmich, Silva and Zubimendi.

The report stated that due to the club’s ongoing financial problems, they were unable to bring the three players to Catalan.
Explaining his decision to leave the club, Xavi said: “We have reached a point of no return. It's time for change. As a Culé, I think that it's time to leave. I spoke with the board and the club today. I will leave on the 30th of June.
“Everything will be calmer now, we can compete for the Champions League… at least with this decision you [the press] won’t kill me anymore. The club will improve with this decision.”
