A Wrexham transfer target has provided a clue about his future on social media.

The Welsh outfit are currently out partying in Las Vegas courtesy of Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, in celebration of their second promotion in succession.

Wrexham sealed a return to League One for the first time in 19 years after finishing second in the fourth tier of English football, behind Stockport County.

Upon securing their promotion the club announced they were releasing their longest-serving player, Luke Young, alongside seven other first-teamers.

Goalkeeper Rob Lainton, defenders Callum McFadzean, Aaron Hayden, Jordan Tunnicliffe and Ben Tozer are also set to depart, alongside young professionals Owen Cushion and Dan Davies.

However, keeper Mark Howard, striker Steven Fletcher and Aaron James have been offered new deals.

Meanwhile, Arsenal loanee Arthur Okonkwo was pictured in Vegas among the rest of the Wrexham squad, donning a club scarf, amid reports he too could remain with the Welsh side.

Okonkwo, whose Gunners deal expires this summer, produced a series of standout performances across the campaign to help the club earn promotion.

As per the Independent, co-owners Reynolds and McElhenney are considering securing the 22-year-old on a permanent deal.

Of course, should the shot-stopper become a free agent he will likely attract significant interest on the open market, and it may be that Wrexham are unable to afford his wages. It is said that about half of Okonkwo’s salary this term was paid by his parent club.

Speaking on his time at Wrexham in January, Okonkwo said: "It's been great. I joined the team with a plan with the gaffer - at the beginning, I was just waiting for my opportunity.

"Now it's good to be playing and being involved with the team and helping as much as I can."

He added: "It's crucial [to get minutes at an early age.] You look at a lot of young goalkeepers it's so important to get minutes, luckily I've been able to do that here, and I'm happy with that.”
