Arsenal are lining up a stunning bid for a Premier League star once the deal for Viktor Gyokeres is complete.

Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Sporting CP's Gyokeres after months of speculation this summer.

The Gunners have finally reached a full agreement with Sporting, who have accepted terms of an initial £54 million plus £8.7 million in add-ons.

Gyokeres is expected to undergo his Arsenal medical on Saturday ahead of penning a five-year deal.

The 27-year-old, who scored an impressive 54 goals across all competitions last season, has decided on his iconic squad number.

Once Gyokeres is an Arsenal player, he will be the club's sixth signing of the summer following the acquisitions of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera.

And it appears they will remain in the market for further recruits ahead of the new season.

According to the Independent, Arsenal are 'aiming to swiftly secure' Eberechi Eze once they have completed the transfer of Gyokeres.

Arsenal are turning their attention to other targets given the Swede is on the verge of signing a deal at the Emirates.

Eze is at the top of Mikel Arteta's transfer wish-list and those close to the player are confident a deal will be done in the 'next few weeks', per the report.

The 27-year-old has starred for Crystal Palace in the Premier League since joining from Queens Park Rangers for £17 million in the summer of 2020.

He has made 166 appearances across all competitions for the Eagles and has 11 England caps to his name after making his international debut in 2023.

Arsenal are hoping to agree a fee in the region of £60 million rather than the reported £68 million release clause.

There has not yet been any formal contact between Arsenal and Palace, but the suggestions are that both will be 'flexible' amid good relations between the two boardrooms.

The report states that Arsenal's preference would be to sell a player before they pursue a deal for Eze, but the signing is not contingent on that.

Reiss Nelson, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Fulham, could be included in any deal.
