David Raya has revealed who his favourite CBS Sports pundit is after producing a heroic double save in Arsenal's Champions League opener.

Arsenal got their 2024/25 Champions League campaign on Thursday night as Serie A side Atalanta hosted the London club at the Gewiss Stadium.

The match ended as a goalless draw, with the defining moment coming early in the second half as Arsenal goalkeeper Raya produced a stunning double save after the hosts had been awarded a penalty.

After the match had ended, the Spanish keeper spoke with CBS Sports and revealed who of the popular panel was his personal favourite.

The CBS Sports Champions League coverage panel is made up by a beloved quartert of Kate Scott, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards.

And when asked by Richards who his favourite on the show is, Raya responded: "Oh you're putting me on right on the spot!"

To which Carragher responds jokingly, "Well you're normally good when someone's got it on the spot so come on!"

Raya finally gives in, replying: "I like you all but for me, Micah, Micah's takes are always quite funny, he makes me laugh."

Richards reacts by letting out a scream of celebration before running over to the monitor to embrace Raya, give him a kiss and tell him that he loves him.

"You see! For those things you win a lot of people," said Raya while laughing.

The Spaniard stole the headlines after the match after in the 48th minute Atalanta were awarded a penalty following Thomas Partey's foul on Ederson inside the 18-yard box.

Mateo Retegui stepped up but saw both his penalty and rebound incredibly saved by Raya.

Speaking after the match, the goalkeeper said: “It was just a penalty and I was lucky to go the right way. I was unlucky that the rebound went straight to him [Retegui] but I was quick enough to get up and save it. It is fantastic to be able to keep the clean sheet and to help the team to get at least a point.”

Arsenal's next match is the anticipated potential title decider against champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Their next Champions League clash will be the first at the Emirates this season, as they welcome Paris Saint-Germain to London on October 1.
