Ben White's immediate reaction emerges after Wolves fans direct chant at Arsenal star

Footage of Ben White reacting to Wolves fans’ taunts in the wake of Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers has emerged.

Arsenal returned to the Premier League summit on Saturday with a victory over Wolves at Molineux, courtesy of goals from Leandro Trossard and Martin Odegaard.

The Gunners were under pressure to claim the victory, having suffered a shock home defeat to Aston Villa last week and been knocked out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

A vital three points have seen Mikel Arteta’s side regain some momentum in the title race and move one point clear of Manchester City at the summit, having played an extra game.

One moment in the game’s second half has garnered particular attention on social media, after a video circulated in which sections of home supporters were heard directing a chant at Arsenal right-back White.

The Wolves supporters were heard singing: "Ben White, your spray tan is sh**e."

In reference to White’s decision to no longer play for England, fans are also said to have chanted: “Southgate’s right, you’re f**king shi*e.”

When the ball went out of play, the full-back responded by turning to the supporters and applauding them.

After the game, Arsenal boss Arteta was positive about his side’s display and insisted they were right back in the title race.

The Spaniard told Sky Sports: "At the moment, I can't tell you what the difference is. At the moment, we are fighting for the league again.

"We've had our first experience in the Champions League for a lot of those boys. We've come quite far, not as far yet as we want but we want to still improve a lot.

"This is where we want to be [at the top of the table]. We lost it last week at home to Aston Villa.

"We didn't deserve to lose it, but we're top now at least for a day so let's see what happens.

"We're going to have to earn the win on Tuesday against Chelsea. We'll give it a real go."
