Arsenal have received a £112million offer from Paris Saint-Germain for one of their players, a Spanish publication has alleged.

Saturday saw Arsenal’s title credentials endure another setback, as West Ham claimed a surprise 1-0 win at the Emirates.

When asked about his team's title prospects after a toothless display against the Hammers, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta told the BBC: "It's not in our hands. I'm really, really annoyed with the things that are in our hands – which is the performance and the result.

"[We were] nowhere near the levels that we have to hit to have the opportunity to win a Premier league. I'm very much responsible for that, so I'm very, very angry."

According to Spanish publication, Fichajes it has also been a disruptive week off the pitch, as French giants PSG bid some £112million for Gunners central midfielder Declan Rice.

Indeed, Arsenal paid a club-record £105million to sign Rice from West Ham in the summer of 2023.

And Fichajes claimed that while PSG have made a £112million offer plus add ons for the player, Arsenal are not willing to let the England international go for less than £133million. That figure would represent a record sale for the Gunners.

The publication added: “Although Rice has shown his satisfaction at Arsenal, the PSG offer is a temptation for any player of his level, especially considering the purchasing power of the Parisian club.

“Arsenal, meanwhile, are determined to keep their star player, aware of the importance of maintaining a competitive team to continue fighting in the Premier League and in European competitions.

“Rice’s value, who at just 24 is already considered one of the best in his position, continues to rise, and the Gunners know they can demand a considerable amount if they decide to sell him.”

Rice has operated as both a deep-lying midfielder and as an eight for Arsenal this term.

Indeed, ex-Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes recently claimed he is now uncertain about where Rice was most effective.

Speaking on the Overlap Scholes said: “Declan Rice, I’m a little disappointed with him because I think he’s been put in a place where we don’t really know what he is anymore.

“Is he that holding midfield player? Is he the one, I’ve heard people like Gary Neville say he should be the one getting forward, scoring goals.

“I’ve never seen him that way. I think he’s almost become a little bit stuck in not really knowing what he is and Arteta knowing what he is.”
