Arsenal fans have been reacting on social media after watching one player's performance against Nottingham Forest.

On Saturday afternoon, domestic football returned with Arsenal taking on Forest in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners took the lead through Martin Zubimendi's beautiful volley in the 32nd minute before Viktor Gyokeres made it 2-0 46 seconds into the second half.

Zubimendi then made it 3-0 after scoring a header with 79 minutes on the clock.

In the end, Mikel Arteta's men held on for a well-deserved victory, taking them top of the Premier League table before Liverpool play Burnley on Sunday afternoon.

During the match, Arsenal fans took to social media to praise summer signing Noni Madueke, who joined from rivals Chelsea.

At the time, fans were not entirely convinced that Madueke was the player they needed.

However, against Forest, the winger was in fine form as he led most of Arsenal's attacks.

On socical media, one fan said: "Noni Madueke!!! What a signing. Arsenal Fans Club should write an open apology letter to him. He filled the Saka role and delivered perfectly."

Another tweeted: "Madueke deserves an apology from all Arsenal fans."

A third fan added: "Many people owe Madueke an apology. Seems AFTV and football twitter aren’t the best scouting networks."

Someone else wrote: "For Everyone that doubted Noni Madueke. I want a text book apology."

A fifth commented: "If you were against Madueke's signing, I want to see your public apology....Now please."

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, former England and Manchester City captain Steph Houghton said: "This has been more about Arsenal than it has been about Forest. Eberechi Eze has been amazing and he has given them something different. Noni Madueke, you can see his confidence is high."

Ex-Wales star Danny Gabbidon added: "A lot of Arsenal fans were doubting the transfer and Noni Madueke looks in electric form. He can go either way. He will go on his right as much as he cuts in on his left.

"From a defensive point of view, that's difficult to defend against. He has caused all sorts of problems."

The Gunners are next in action on Tuesday night when they kick off their Champions League campaign against Athletic Club.
