Ange Postecoglou would 'seriously consider' making a sensational return to one of his former clubs, according to a new report – and the job could potentially be available in the near future.
On Saturday afternoon, Nottingham Forest confirmed the departure of Postecoglou following a torrid 39-day reign at the City Ground.
The 60-year-old, who replaced Nuno Espirito Santo on September 9, failed to win any of his eight games in charge, with their 3-0 defeat to Chelsea being the final straw for owner Evangelos Marinakis.
His stint at Forest is the second-shortest in Premier League history.

It has been a year of mixed emotions for Postecoglou, who was sacked by Tottenham at the end of last season, just 16 days after leading them to victory in the Europa League final against Manchester United.

But the question remains – what next? A report from Football Insider claims Postecoglou would 'definitely consider' a return to Scottish Premiership side Celtic if the opportunity arose at his old stomping ground.
Postecoglou enjoyed two trophy-laden years in charge of Celtic before leaving to join Tottenham in 2023. In total, he won five domestic trophies, including a domestic treble in his final season.

And sources suggest the former Australia manager 'could be an option' for Celtic if Brendan Rodgers departs.
Rodgers, who has yet to sign a new deal at the club, is considering leaving because of their current situation.
"Now, the boss is growing increasingly likely to quit amid a feeling that things have gone stale as a result of the lack of backing and ambition from the board," report Football Insider, as per former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown.
Celtic legend makes Ange Postecoglou claim amid rumours
Speaking to Go Radio, former Celtic defender Charlie Mulgrew said he thinks Postecoglou will be Celtic's first choice if they decide to part ways with Brendan Rodgers.

“I don’t know if he (Postecoglou) would (come back),” he said. “Only he knows the answer to that question. But there is no doubt about it, he would probably be the first name the Celtic board would try and speak to, I would imagine."

“What a manager he was," Mulgrew continued. "Actually, when you look at what he has done for Celtic, he was like the perfect fit. An amazing manager. Forward-thinking playing manager.
“Listen, Brendan Rodgers is a great manager for Celtic. Things just aren’t great, at the moment. To answer your question, if Brendan Rodgers moves on, of course, he (Ange) will be the first.

“I think it looks like it. I just think if it’s not before then, it will definitely be by the end of the season. There are no talks about a contract. It has totally died down. It looks like, to me, he is away at the end of the season."
“That’s what it all boils down to," he added. "If the recruitment had been done earlier and better, I don’t think we would be having this conversation.”
