The 10 most dangerous fanbases in world football have been named, with one English club featuring.

While football is a joyous game that brings people together, unfortunately hooliganism and anti-social behaviour from some sections of fans still very much exists.

Ultras with their flares and pyrotechnics are still present amongst fanbases across the world and back in 2018, Bleacher Report produced a list of the most threatening supporters who are not to be looked past.

Half of the selections from writer Thomas Atzenhoffer were European sides, with Wisla Krakow of Poland and Czech Republic's Sparta Prague two clubs listed and various controversies mentioned.

Meanwhile, Italian side AS Roma make the cut - with a slew of stabbings involving English clubs referenced by the outlet, who write: "The ancient reference that referred to Romans as the 'mob' in ancient times can almost be likened to the fans of modern day Roma, as their emotions are dependent on the win or loss of their club".

Similarly, Turkish giants Galatasaray have garnered a reputation for being some of the most passionate and feared fans around and it's only right given their use of the slogan ' 'Welcome to Hell' whenever a team comes to their patch and feels the deafening noise of their chants.

The incident with Leeds United fans in the 2000 UEFA Cup semi-final is well-documented, and Bleacher Report called their supporters "some of the most dangerous in all of the game".

In England, hooliganism is not what it was back in the 1970's and 1980's but Millwall and the Bushwackers are one of the most revered firms to have existed.

Ranked second in the list of the most notorious football firms, Millwall regularly battled with rivals West Ham and Chelsea and were at the centre of two major riots and various instances of organised chaos on matchdays.

Bleacher said the Championship outfit still have a "frightening reputation" and were included in the list alongside the Colombian, El Salvador and Honduras national sides, amongst others.
