A documentary has shown Barcelona players crestfallen after Liverpool produced that sensational Champions League comeback at Anfield.

The Catalan giants secured a 3-0 first-leg semi-final victory at the Camp Nou against the Reds and seemed almost certain to book their place in the final.

But on this day in 2019, Jurgen Klopp's men, who would win the Champions League against Tottenham in the final, produced a stunning comeback at Anfield by thrashing Barcelona 4-0.

Barcelona's sponsors, Rakuten, released a behind-the-scenes documentary on the club's exploits during that 2018/19 season.

And episode seven of the Matchday, dubbed the 'Eighteen-Day Storm,' highlighted the low points of the Barcelona dressing room after the defeat.

The footage, which was posted on social media, shows the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Sergio Busquets and Ivan Rakitic dejected as Barca were dumped out of the Champions League. You can see the clips below.

Here is the dressing room afterwards.

Matchday, which is available to watch on Rakuten TV, also had a shocking scene at half-time when Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde was delivering a message to his players.

And a shell-shocked Jordi Alba had his head in his towel and needed comforting, despite Barcelona only losing 1-0 before the end of the first half.

Lionel Messi, who promised to bring the Champions League back to Barcelona in his first speech as club captain, delivered a motivational speech to his teammates before the Liverpool clash.

The Argentine urged his teammates to put their shock Champions League collapse against Roma in 2018 behind them.

"Come on, people. We are going to take a step forward," he said. "We can't waste this opportunity, OK? Give everything now that we are here.

"We have to start strong. Remember: Rome was our fault. Nobody else's. We mustn't let the same thing happen. It was our fault and nobody else's."

Messi also stepped up to his captain duties at half-time and demanded that his team stop sitting so deep against Liverpool.

"Come on, come on, we need to start strong," he said.

"Let's keep going, we can do it. Don't sit back. Come on, let's start leaving. We have to score a goal, we have to score a goal."
