The FIFA Women’s World Cup (WWC) kicks off on July 20, 2023.

This year the WWC will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

Before the action starts, we thought we’d put together a list of the top talent you should look out for throughout the tournament.

Here are five genuine stars to keep an eye on in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup:

Sam Kerr (Australia):

We couldn’t put together a list like this without including Australian forward Sam Kerr.

Kerr has dominated both the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in the United States and the Women's Super League in England, consistently finding the back of the net with her clinical finishing.

Kerr's exceptional aerial ability and ability to turn a match in an instant make her a player to watch in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Vivianne Miedema (Netherlands):

Vivianne Miedema has established herself as one of the most lethal strikers in women's football.

With exceptional technical ability, goal-scoring prowess, and an intelligent understanding of the game, the Dutch forward is a force to be reckoned with.

Miedema has already shattered records in the Women's Super League and boasts an incredible scoring record for both club and country.

Her composure in front of the goal and ability to create scoring opportunities make her a standout player to watch.

Fran Kirby (England):

Fran Kirby's rise to prominence has been nothing short of extraordinary.

The English attacking midfielder possesses exceptional technical skills, vision, and creativity, making her a constant threat in the final third.

Kirby's ability to score goals and create opportunities for her teammates has made her a key player for both Chelsea and the England national team.

Her ability to dictate the tempo of a match and unlock defences with her passing and dribbling make her an exciting player to keep an eye on.

Rose Lavelle (United States):

Rose Lavelle burst onto the international stage during the 2019 Women's World Cup, where she played a pivotal role in the United States' triumph.

The dynamic midfielder possesses exceptional close control, agility, and vision, allowing her to glide past opponents effortlessly.

Lavelle's ability to drive forward from midfield and contribute both goals and assists makes her a game-changer.

Her technical ability, coupled with her fearless attitude, make her an interesting talent to watch in the tournament.

Asisat Oshoala (Nigeria):

Nigerian forward Asisat Oshoala has consistently impressed with her electrifying speed and clinical finishing.

Having excelled at club and international levels, Oshoala has been named the African Women's Player of the Year four times.

Her ability to leave defenders trailing in her wake and her goal-scoring instincts make her a pivotal player to follow in the Women's World Cup.
