Erik ten Hag's priceless reaction to Antony performing trademark spin and putting ball out of play

Erik ten Hag was not happy with Antony's showboating against Sheriff Tiraspol.

Erik ten Hag had a priceless reaction to Antony performing his trademark turn and then proceeding to pass the ball out of play.

Antony, who joined Manchester United from Ajax in a £86 million move late in the summer window, was handed a start in the Europa League clash with Sheriff Tiraspol at Old Trafford.

United won 3-0 courtesy of goals from Diogo Dalot, substitute Marcus Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo on the penultimate matchday.

But one of the biggest talking points was in the first half when Antony did a bit of showboating under no pressure.

The Brazilian absolutely loves expressing himself on the pitch and has his own skill that he regularly pulls off.

He did it against Chelsea at the weekend and was going all 360 again on Thursday night. This time, however, his pass was massively overhit and went out for a goal-kick.

The camera panned to Ten Hag and he looked absolutely furious on the United bench. The Dutchman will have seen him do the move at Ajax before but was less than impressed and shook his head.

At half-time of the clash, Antony was replaced by Rashford, who went on head home a brilliant second for the Red Devils.

Fans wondered pre-planned or whether the antics influenced the substitution made, though Ten Hag said it was "more or less" decided beforehand in his BT Sport interview.

In the studio, former United midfielders Paul Scholes and Owen Hargreaves did not like what they saw from the 22-year-old.

Scholes said: "It's just ridiculous. It's showboating, What is he thinking? - I think he needs that [showboating] kicking out of him."

"At 0-0 you don't really do that. You don't do that at 3, 4-0. You have to show respect to the opposition."

Antony wasn't the only United player to go to extreme lengths to express himself as 18-year-old starlet Alejandro Garnacho produced a filthy Neymar-esque touch on his full debut.
