Mascot couldn't take his eyes off Cristiano Ronaldo, it's a very wholesome moment

The kid was clearly very pleased that he got to walk out with Ronaldo ahead of the star's Saudi Pro League debut for Al Nassr.

Cristiano Ronaldo made his debut for Al Nassr on Sunday, and the happiest person to learn that news was the mascot who accompanied ahead of the game.

Ronaldo played his first game since signing moving to Saudi Arabia last week, when he was part of an All Star XI against PSG, scoring twice.

He had to wait for his league debut for his club though, as he was still serving a two match ban that had stuck from his time at Manchester United.

However, on Sunday, he was finally able to make his first start in the Saudi Pro League, as top of the table Al Nassr took on midtable Ettifaq.

The 37-year-old was handed the captain's armband and he led the side out for the match, alongside a mascot who clearly couldn't believe his luck, as you can see in the video below.

Whilst the game against PSG a few days earlier saw him pull of some of his old tricks and flicks, and earn a compilation for his excellent performance, things didn't go according to plan on the weekend.

His new side did continue their assault on the title with a 1-0 win, but the five time Ballon d'Or winner wasn't involved in the goal.

Not only that, his personal 'highlights' of the match showed more that he was completely off form for his first game in the yellow and blue of Al Nassr.

After the match he took to social media to post about the match, using a picture of him in action as well, with people pointing out that he hadn't even made contact with the acrobatic overhead kick in the photo he'd posted.

First game, first win - well done guys 🙌🏻 Thanks to all the fans for incredible support. 💙💛 pic.twitter.com/vmgwE8TgVo

The mascot on Sunday could one day join an elite group of people who have walked onto the pitch with the former Real Madrid star.

On loan Chelsea forward, Joao Felix, who has been the superstar's teammate with the Portugal national team on many occasions was actually his mascot many years ago.

Those are certainly better interactions than the former United forward had with the other kind of mascot, whilst still playing for Erik ten Hag's team last year.

During the Premier League team's game with Real Sociedad, in the Europa League, their mascot dressed in a big foam suit did Ronaldo's famous Siuuu celebration.

United won 1-0 but it wasn't enough to top the group and meant they will play Barcelona in the play-off round of the competition next month.
