Chelsea fans are all making the same Declan Rice point as Man City rival Arsenal for West Ham star

Chelsea fans are all making the same Declan Rice point as Man City rival Arsenal for West Ham star

Chelsea fans have been voicing their concerns

Chelsea fans are worried that Manchester City’s interest in Declan Rice will hamper their transfer window.

Over the last few weeks, West Ham captain Rice has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal.

It was reported that the Gunners have had two bids for the 24-year-old rejected by the Hammers.

This week, it was reported that City have entered the race to sign Rice and is preparing an offer for the midfielder.

After hearing the news, Chelsea fans have been calling on their club to get the deal for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo over the line as soon as possible.

This is because they fear Arsenal will have the money to spend on Caicedo if they fail to land Rice.

One fan said: “If true, we need to get a move on for Moisés Caicedo, as it could have a domino effect if Arsenal miss out on Declan Rice.”

Another tweeted: “This isn’t good news for us. We really need to get a move on for Caicedo because Arsenal will have a hole burning in their pocket if they don’t get Rice.”

A third fan added: “Yeah. Move and move fast. No lowballing.”

Someone else wrote: “They really shouldn't wait for all outgoings to be finalized, we're running short of midfielders…”

Whilst a fifth commented: “I knew it might come to this, and we may likely lose Caicedo, don't know what's taking Chelsea so long to conclude the deal.”

Arsenal had an initial bid of £80 million rejected last week and on Tuesday, a bid of £90 million was also rejected.

According to The Guardian, Arsenal offered £75 million upfront plus £15 million in performance-related add-ons.

However, the report claims West Ham felt the add-ons were difficult to achieve and they are looking for a minimum fee of £100 million to do a deal.

In anticipation of Rice’s expected departure, the Hammers are already drawing up a list of replacements.

They have been linked with the likes of Fulham’s Joao Palhinha, Bristol City star Alex Scott, who is regarded as one of the best youngsters in the Championship and Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.
