Kane's trophy drought won't end any time soon.

Harry Kane has missed out on yet another trophy after Bayern Munich lost their final match of the season.

When Kane joined serial-winners Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur last summer, the striker surely thought that his career-long trophy drought would come to an end.

That hasn't proven to be the case, with the £86 million man ending his first campaign in Germany without a single medal around his neck.

Bayern were knocked out of the DFB Pokal in November by third-tier Saarbrucken, and by early spring they had been left behind by eventual Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.

Earlier this month Thomas Tuchel's side were eliminated from the Champions League with a controversial 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid, ending their hopes of silverware.

Bayern's season ended with a whimper with a 4-2 defeat to Hoffenheim, despite the fact they were 2-0 up after six minutes.

Kane was absent due to a back injury, but the result means he will miss the chance to win his first trophy in three months time.

The loss saw Bayern slip to third place in the Bundesliga table as VfB Stuttgart thrashed Borussia Monchengladbach 4-0.

That means that the Bavarian club won't play in the German Super Cup in August.

The showpiece fixture sees the Bundesliga champions take on the DFB Pokal winners, but if the same club wins both - as Bayer Leverkusen could well do - then the Bundesliga runner-up qualifies instead.

If Leverkusen beat Kaiserslautern in the cup final on May 25, then they will face Stuttgart in the Super Cup.

On a personal level, Kane enjoyed an exceptional first season in Germany.

The 30-year-old scored a remarkable 36 goals in 32 league outings, making him the top scorer in the Bundesliga this term.

In all competitions he netted 44 times in 45 matches.

Kane will look to break his trophy duck under a new manager next season, after it was confirmed that Tuchel will leave the club this summer.
