Manchester United have reportedly 'started talks' with Paris Saint-Germain over a shock move for Neymar.

French news publication L'Equipe claim that discussions have been 'initiated' with Premier League clubs, and the Red Devils are among them.

The 31-year-old is thought to be seriously considering leaving the French capital at the end of the season after sealing a record-breaking €222m transfer from Barcelona six years ago.

While PSG allegedly won’t stand in the Brazilian's way.

Neymar is currently tied to a new deal keeping him at the Stade De France until 2027, but the Ligue 1 side's desire to put Kylian Mbappe at the forefront of the team is said to be frustrating Neymar.

However, Manchester United are not alone in their interest.

The report states that several Premier League clubs have entered talks with PSG to sound out Neymar's availability, but the Red Devils are said to be the 'most advanced at this stage'.

In addition, Casemiro is reportedly pushing for his compatriot to join him at Old Trafford, with the pair having previously been bitter rivals in La Liga.

Manchester United are on course to qualify for the Champions League, which would no doubt be a determining factor in Neymar's decision.

Erik ten Hag and co are thought to favour a loan move for the winger, but PSG would rather sell him on a permanent basis.

A meeting is expected to take place between PSG Sporting advisor Luis Campos and the player’s entourage soon, as speculation grows over his future.

L’Equipe add that Chelsea are also monitoring the player’s situation, but their lack of Champions League status may put them out of contention for his signature.
