Bernardo Silva's 'salty' post-match interview after Liverpool 1-0 Man City gets the crying filter treatment

Bernardo Silva's 'salty' post-match interview after Liverpool 1-0 Man City gets the crying filter treatment

Bernardo Silva bemoaned Phil Foden's disallowed goal for Man City against Liverpool at Anfield.

Bernardo Silva's post-match interview after Manchester City 1-0's defeat to Liverpool at Anfield has gone viral after a fan putting the crying filter on it.

City suffered their first loss of the season, with Mo Salah scoring the only goal of the game in the 76th minute from an Alisson Becker kick up the pitch.

The Premier League champions had the ball in the net first early on in the second half when Phil Foden struck, but the goal was chalked off by VAR after it was ruled Erling Haaland had fouled Fabinho in the build-up.

Pep Guardiola was absolutely seething and after the game, Bernardo was also not happy with referee Anthony Taylor and did not hold back when interviewed.

The Portugal international has a bit of history with Liverpool supporters, stemming from him failing to give them a proper guard of honour when they won the Premier League in 2020.

He ended up branded them "pathetic" and told them to "read a book" on Twitter after City were knocked out of the Champions League by Lyon shortly afterwards.

So when he came across as a little salty on Sky Sports, one Reds supporter added the hilarious crying filter and it has amassed 839,000 views.

In the interview, Silva bemoaned the lack of consistency from the referee, who he said "cannot change just because there is a goal".

"What we expect from the referees is consistency in the decisions," Silva explained.

"When you go through a path of not whistling little contacts throughout the whole game you need to keep those decisions and keep going that way. If you want to whistle all of them, whistle all of them.

"If from the beginning of the game you're not whistling little fouls, and we saw it in this game that he was letting us play - which is good, which is fine - then if there is a goal you cannot whistle a soft one.

"If you want consistency from the referee you cannot change just because there is a goal. Just because it's a tough decision you have to make the tough decision and keep the goal."

Silva was involved in a tussle with Salah that didn't result in a free-kick awarded, which led to an angry Jurgen Klopp being shown a red card.

Guardiola, who alleges that he had coins thrown at him by the home fans, also claimed that in disallowing the goal, the referee went away from the approach he had told the two teams he would be adopting.

“This is Anfield, the referee spoke with my assistants and said he’s not going to make fouls unless they’re clear,” Guardiola said after the full-time whistle.

“All game was play on, except the goal we scored and after that, it’s not play on.

“That is the question, so when the referee decides to speak to the managers, to Jurgen Klopp, to my assistant coach and say ‘I am going to be clear, it happens all the time in that way,’ then you cannot disallow the goal. But if you decide in the first minute fault, fault, fault… But you know, this is Anfield.”
