Liverpool transfer target Aurelién Tchouaméni has signed for Real Madrid on a permanent deal from AS Monaco for €80m, plus an additional €20m worth of add-ons. Tchouaméni will sign a 6 year contract with Los Blancos and is expected to complete his final medical at the Bernabéu on Tuesday.

The 22 year old midfielder joins Real from the red and white of AS Monaco where the young man racked up 74 appearances and 5 goals for the club. The defensive midfielder stands at an imposing 6ft 2 inches and is renowned for his off the ball work-rate, ability to read the game, as well as being able to turn over possession and move the ball up the field.

Tchouaméni has been a regular in France’s national team development programme, where he has worked his way up from U16 to U21 level and ultimately the senior team, where he has now played 11 games. Having already made over 100 Ligue 1 appearances for Bordeaux and Monaco, Tchouaméni is already a relatively experienced footballer who will prove a great addition to Real Madrid's star studded lineup.

Liverpool have been linked with the youngster all season, and they will be gutted to miss out as their midfield is their weakest area on the pitch. New signing Tiago has had to do most of the heavy lifting there this season. Losing Aurelién Tchouaméni to Real Madrid comes as another blow Los Blancos have dealt to the Merseysiders as The Reds lost 1-0 to Real at the Parc Des Princes in late May, possibly persuading Tchouaméni that Madrid were the better option as they continued their European supremacy with the clubs 14th Champions League title. Liverpool are now in desperate need of some Summer signings with Mo Salah and Sadio Mané looking to depart the club for what looks like Barcelona and Bayern Munich respectively.
