Everton midfielder Amadou Onana has hinted that he could be open to a move away from Goodison Park, amid interest from Arsenal.

The 21-year-old, who only signed for Everton last summer, has been a key player for the Toffees this season.

Whilst his future is likely to hinge on Everton's Premier League status, with the Merseyside club currently languishing in the relegation places, one point adrift of safety.

Should he leave, Arsenal and Chelsea are both thought to be interested, having made approaches for the player in January.

Journalist Graeme Bailey claimed that the Gunners had 'been in touch' with the Everton midfielder, who would allegedly carry a £50million price tag.

Meanwhile French news outlet L’Equipe reported that Chelsea made an offer for Onana.

However, the Belgian was keen to stay at the relegation-threatened side until the end of the season, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

Onana keen to play at the 'highest level'

In a major boost for Arsenal, Onana has revealed his desire to play at the highest level.

Asked where he sees himself in five years, Onana told SoFoot:

"I see myself having had a lot of life experiences, which will have made me learn a lot about human beings in general, as well as about myself.

"I see myself, God willing, in one of the biggest clubs recognised worldwide."

The Gunners are currently in a rich vein form, a fact Onana will know all too well after his side were brushed aside 4-0 by Mikel Arteta's men on Wednesday.

The victory leaves the north London club five points clear at the top of the Premier League table, as they eye their first domestic title since 2004.

And with summer fast approaching, the Emirates is emerging as an attractive option for several players.

Arteta must also divert his attention from Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo, after the club announced that he had signed a new deal at the Amex.

The Gunners saw two bids rejected for the Ecuador international in January. However, they must now look elsewhere in their search for midfield additions.
