New Supercomputer predicts Arsenal to win the Premier League, despite West Ham draw

New Supercomputer predicts Arsenal to win the Premier League, despite West Ham draw

For many, the draw at the weekend opened up the door for Manchester City to defend the league title, but that's not everyone's view.

Arsenal are set to pip Manchester City to the Premier League title, by the barest of margins, despite the draw with West Ham, according to the latest Supercomputer.

Did Sunday afternoon show the first real cracks opening on Arsenal's surprise title charge, as they threw away two points to West Ham United?

A week before, the Gunners had been 2-0 up and cruising at Liverpool but their record at Anfield meant that a draw was always going to be a decent result, so the Reds' comeback wasn't too crushing.

It could have been worse as well, with Aaron Ramsdale making a couple of late saves, including one from point blank range off Ibrahima Konate.

However, it never really would have been acceptable to drop points to West Ham, even before the game, considering the Hammers' poor campaign to date.

With David Moyes' side also having to put up with a Europa Conference League game on Thursday, it all pointed to an easy three points for the league leaders.

When they took a two goal lead inside 10 minutes, it looked like it might end up an absolute hammering, but back the Irons came to level it up at 2-2, and like Liverpool the week before, nearly win it themselves.

The four points dropped in a week leaves Mikel Arteta's team just four clear of City, who have a game in hand, and the two teams are set to meet later this month at the Etihad Stadium.

Most people now have Pep Guardiola's defending champions as the favourites to win the league, but according to LegalSportsbooks' 'Supercomputer' that's not the case.

The computer based the results on formulating each team’s average wins, draws, losses, points earned, goals scored and goals conceded per game this season so far.

It obviously thinks that City will draw one and lose one more game before the end of the campaign, whilst the Gunners will do the same.

That could mean the sides drawing when they meet, or one of them will come out on top but drop points in other games, but either way it will be Arsenal crowned champions for the first time since 2004.

They will be followed in the Champions League places by Manchester United, who had a great weekend with their win over Nottingham Forest being joined by both Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur losing.

It will be Newcastle who grab the final place in the top four, beating Spurs and Brighton down to the Europa League, with the resurgent Aston Villa heading into the Europa Conference League.

Down at the bottom of the table, Southampton are only going to pick up five more points and finish rock bottom of the table, which is a surprise to no one.

They will be joined in the Championship by Forest and Everton, with both those sides missing out on safety by goal difference to Leicester City.

A spokesperson for LegalSportsbooks explained, "Despite Arsenal throwing away their leads against Liverpool and West Ham in recent weeks, the Gunners will hold onto their lead and win the Premier League title.

"Manchester City will drop points eventually, they are predicted to lose one more time before the end of the season which won’t be enough to catch Arsenal.

"Newcastle and Aston Villa fans will be delighted to have a taste of football abroad for the first time in years, and it will be the first time the Seagulls get to experience any European football in their history, they better prepare the floodlights at the Amex.

"Everton, Nottingham Forest and Southampton will not survive the relegation battle, teams above them will win more and draw less games than the Toffees and Forest, proving crucial for the point gap from the bottom three.”
