Thomas Partey is expected to miss tonight's big league clash against Manchester City.

Arsenal fans are all saying the same thing following news that Thomas Partey is expected to miss tonight's big clash against Manchester City.

Premier League leaders Arsenal entertain Man City in a top-of-the-table showdown at the Emirates.

And ahead of the fixture, Mikel Arteta has been dealt a huge blow as Partey is set to miss the match through injury.

The star midfielder was pictured in Arsenal training on Tuesday and appeared set to start the game against Man City.

But he is now thought to be unavailable for selection due to a 'muscular' problem, according to David Ornstein.

The news of Partey has got Arsenal fans regretting their January business as they bemoaned not signing Moises Caicedo from Brighton.

The Gunners failed in their pursuit to sign the Ecuadorian last month, with Arteta eventually snapping up Jorginho from Chelsea.

Arsenal supporters on social media lamented the club's decision to not bring in Caicedo during the January transfer window.

One Twitter user wrote: "We could have pushed for Caicedo and had proper cover but hey at least we still have a good relationship right!"

A second tweeted: "At least we didn't overpay for Caicedo though ay."

A third commented: "Not paying that extra 10M for Caicedo is looking dumber by the day. J5 and Xhaka against Rodri, KDB, Bernardo, and Gundogoal lolololol kill me now."

A fourth joked: "Is it too late to bid £75,000,001 for Caicedo?"

Another said: "Don't worry guys, we can start Caicedo inste- Oh wait, we signed that bum j20 instead. We are so f**ked."

Arteta had said there were no new injury problems for the Man City game during his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

"Everybody that we had from the previous game is available so far, unless something strange happens today. We’re looking forward to it," he said.

The last-minute withdrawal of Partey will come as a massive blow, with the Ghanaian starring for Arsenal this season.
