The remaining Premier League matches for the 2022-23 season have been simulated an eye-watering 800 times amid a nail-biting title race between Arsenal and Manchester City.

Arsenal currently hold a two-point lead over defending champions City at the top of the table, although Mikel Arteta’s men have a Premier League match in hand.

Manchester United, who won the League Cup against Newcastle on Sunday, are also keeping pace with City and Arsenal in the Premier League top four.

The Red Devils are third in the league table and are eight points adrift of Arsenal, with Erik ten Hag’s men six points behind City with a match in hand.

Twitter user Craig Edwards has now shared the findings from a Premier League simulation run 800 times, including who is likely to finish in the top four.

According to the findings, Arsenal have a 53.44 per cent chance of finishing the season as Premier League champions.

And the Gunners have a 39.44 per cent chance of falling short of the Premier League title and finishing second in the league table.

City, on the other hand, have a 44.15 per cent chance of finishing above Arsenal and retaining the title, with a 47.33 probability of Pep Guardiola’s men coming second.

The rest of the Premier League season simulated 800 times (27/02).

The simulated results essentially ruled out a Premier League title challenge from United, with the Red Devils only having a 2.42 per cent chance of finishing top of the table.

However, the findings determined Ten Hag’s men will secure Champions League football next season with a 51.91 per cent chance of a third-place finish.

Tottenham, who are currently fourth in the league table, face the challenge of finishing in the Premier League top four this season.

The simulation predicts only a 31.81 per cent chance of Spurs coming fourth, with 23.41 per cent of Tottenham finishing fifth and only 18.96 of a third-place finish.
