Noa Lang has broken his silence after suffering one of the most gruesome injuries in Champions League history on Wednesday night.

Lang came off the bench to replace Victor Osimhen at half-time of the round of 16 second clash at Anfield after the Nigerian suffered an wrist injury during a collision with Ibrahima Konate

The Dutch international had to be stretchered off late on in the 4-0 defeat after a freak finger injury.

Lang fell into the advertising boards for the second time down the left and was in serious pain, to the point that he required oxygen as he received medical assistance.

Galatasaray released a statement where they said Lang had suffered a "serious cut to his right thumb" and that he was to undergo surgery.

The Turkish outfit said: "Our player Noa Lang suffered a serious cut to his right thumb and is scheduled to undergo surgery in Liverpool in the coming hours, with our medical team present.”

On Thursday morning, Lang took to issue a first comment after the injury. He posted a selfie of him in his full kit in the hospital bed with the nurses on Instagram, with the caption, "S*** happens".
