Wednesday's Carabao Cup third round tie between Arsenal and Brighton will not be shown on TV - anywhere in the world.

The Gunners are looking to get one of their domestic cup challenges off to the perfect start with a win over Roberto De Zerbi's side at the Emirates Stadium.

As one of the most popular teams on the planet, games involving the Gunners are regularly picked by Sky Sports or BT Sport to show in one of their primetime slots.

Across all competitions, 14 Arsenal matches have been shown on TV by either Sky or BT, with the Gunners not in action on the week that Amazon Prime had exclusive viewing rights to 10 midweek Premier League fixtures.

But why can non-match going Gunners fans not watch their side at all against Brighton tonight?

Why fans can't watch Arsenal vs Brighton

Arsenal vs Brighton has not been selected for TV coverage by Sky Sports.

The broadcaster are instead showing Manchester City vs Chelsea, with Manchester United vs Aston Villa also televised on Thursday.

BT Sport and Amazon Prime do not have the rights to Carabao Cup fixtures in the UK, so the Gunners will not be broadcast via those mediums either.

Often, games involving the Gunners not on UK television are picked up by overseas stations. But that is not the case tonight, with Liverpool vs Derby County and Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham Hotspur selected for overseas coverage, as per Metro.

That leaves Arsenal fans in the unusual position of not being able to watch their side anywhere.

The only way of seeing any of the action, if you have not bought a match ticket, is to tune into ITV's Carabao Cup highlights show.

The broadcaster entered into a rights partnership with the EFL at the beginning of this season. Previously, Quest held the rights to show EFL highlights.

The highlights kick off at 10:30pm on ITV4, with coverage repeated on the main ITV channel at 12am on Thursday.
