Only one Formula One driver has permission to visit Michael Schumacher, it is claimed.

Schumacher is widely deemed to be the greatest F1 driver in history, with a record-setting seven championships wins to his name.

Prior to his retirement, he claimed 91 wins, 68 pole positions and 77 fastest laps.

But in 2013, just one year after retiring, the former Ferrari driver was involved in a life-altering skiing accident.

He fell on a rock while skiing off-piste in the French Alps with son Mick and was airlifted to hospital.

Schumacher suffered serious head injuries and was placed in a coma, with it said that wearing his ski helmet is what saved his life.

Details on Schumacher' condition have largely been kept private but is is claimed he receives constant care from wife Corinna and medics.

The F1 legend made a first public appearance in eleven years as he was reportedly seen in attendance at the wedding of his daughter Gina-Maria, who tied the knot with husband Iain Bethke.

But when it comes to visits to him, Corinna only allows a select group of close friends and relatives.

These include his children and their other halves, as well as former Ferrari test driver Luca Badoer and ex FIA president Jean Todt.

According to GP Blog, Schumacher's former Ferrari teammate Felipe Massa has visited whenever he can.

Former manager Willi Weber, Eddie Jordan and Luca Badoer were initially granted access but that was apparently halted after they spoke about Schumacher's state in public.

"Private is private as he always said," Corinna said in a Netflix documentary in 2021.

"It's very important to me that he can continue to enjoy his private life as much as possible. Michael always protected us and now we are protecting Michael."

At the recent wedding at a villa in Majorca, it's reported that guests had to follow strict rules which saw mobile phones and cameras left behind out of respect for Schumacher's privacy.
