Legendary Formula One driver Michael Schumacher has reportedly been seen in public for the first time since his tragic skiing crash over a decade ago.

Schumacher is undoubtedly one of, if not the, greatest Formula One driver of all time having won record-setting seven Formula One World Drivers' Championship titles.

However, on 29 December 2013 he was involved in a life-altering skiing crash, leaving him in a coma for several months.

Since the crash, Schumacher's family have kept him away from the spotlight, but now, for the first time in eleven years he was reportedly seen in public.

According to The Mirror, the 55-year-old was reportedly seen attending the wedding of his daughter Gina-Maria and new husband Iain Bethke last Saturday.

The 27-year-old married her partner at the family's villa in Majorca, with only select guests allowed to attend out of respect for Schumacher.

Following the tragic accident, details over the German driver's condition have been scarce as his deeply loving and caring wife Corinna has only allowed a small number of trusted friends and relatives to visit him.

While not a lot is known, Schumacher reportedly requires round-the-clock medical care and is attended to by Corinna and a team of medics.

Therefore, measures were taken at the wedding to protect the privacy of the Formula One icon, as all guests were made to abide by strict rules so that Schumacher and his family could enjoy the celebrations without worrying about unwanted details of his condition being made public.

The villa that acted as the venue for the wedding ceremony was bought by the bride in 2017, who reportedly paid around £27million to purchase the property from Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

According to Majorcan news outlet Ultima Hora, the wedding ceremony lasted for approximately half-an-hour, with the newlyweds saying "I do" at around 4pm.

Schumacher's brother Ralf, another former driver, and son Mick, who currently works as a reserve driver for Mercedes F1 team, also attended the wedding.

And it may not be the only family wedding in the near future as Mick's girlfriend, Danish model Laila Hasanovic, hinted on Instagram that her long-term boyfriend had proposed.
