Martin Brundle speaks out on claims he blanked celebrity twice in 'painful' Silverstone GP grid walk incident

Martin Brundle has spoken about his grid walk at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Martin Brundle has spoken out after claims that he blanked a celebrity twice during his grid walk at the British Grand Prix.

On Sunday afternoon, McLaren star Lando Norris won the British Grand Prix after an incident-filled race.

The likes of Max Verstappen, George Russell and Charles Leclerc struggled to keep their cars within the white lines as Norris won ahead of Oscar Piastri and Nico Hulkenberg.

Prior to the race, all eyes were fixated on Sky Sports as Brundle conducted his famous grid walk.

The ex-Formula 1 star spoke to the likes of Jeremy Clarkson, Tom Holland, Ian Wright and Hannah Waddingham.

However, fans accused Brundle of blanking a famous actor who was standing directly behind Holland.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who features in 28 Years Later, was seemingly snubbed by Brundle, and fans were quick to have their say.

One said: "Every time Martin Brundle walks past Aaron Taylor Johnson on his grid walk and completely ignores him, it gets funnier and funnier."

Another tweeted: "Martin Brundle not recognising Aaron Taylor Johnson not once but TWICE was painful viewing."

A day after the race, Brundle took to Sky Sports as he spoke about his grid walk.

Although he did not address the apparent Taylor-Johnson snub, Brundle did apologise to any celebrities that he may have rushed past.

He wrote: "The grid walk was reasonable fun. Apologies to any famous and high-achieving people I rushed past and failed to chat to, I'm afraid I have limited capacity to walk, talk, think, listen and meanwhile check out the faces of hundreds of people to see who they are.

"I had a few hits on the head in my former career and so I need a new Google search and AI chips inserted because my brain still runs on floppy disks."

F1 will return at the end of July with the Belgian Grand Prix, taking place around the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps.
