Lewis Hamilton gave a rather damning team radio message during the Singapore Grand Prix which the Mercedes driver finished in sixth despite starting third.
After the recent entertainment of Baku and Monza, the Singapore Grand Prix was a rather disappointing and dull affair.
Unlike in previous weeks, the race winner never looked in doubt as Lando Norris was able to cruise into a 20-30 second lead thanks to the power of his McLaren.

However, there were some touch-and-go moments for Norris who almost ruined his race completely by hitting the walls and skidding off track on multiple occasions. But the Brit managed to maintain composure and get the win he desperately needed.
There was someone whose race was ruined, and that was Lewis Hamilton whose offset strategy didn't give him a chance to bring home a positive result.
Hamilton started the race on the soft compound tire in an attempt to make up positions from the start, however, after failing to pass Max Verstappen and Norris the Brit was forced to pit significantly earlier than other drivers.

As his teammate George Russell and his future teammate Charles Leclerc flew past him on superior tires later in the race, Hamilton took to his team radio to vent his frustrations.
"Sometimes I wonder why I do this..." Hamilton told his race engineer.
The Singapore Grand Prix is notoriously the toughest race on the calendar for drivers, with the extreme heat and humidity paired with the challenges of a street track, it's not one for the faint-hearted.

After the race Mercedes boss Toto Wolff revealed that both Hamilton and Russell were suffering from the physicality of the race.
"They are both suffering from the overheating," Wolff explained.
"But they are fine now. They put themselves in an ice bath and I think that helped a bit."
"It was a really painful evening,"

"We struggle at the moment with tracks that are hot and are tough on traction. It was here and it was Baku. But this is no excuse, it's just at the moment now what we expect from ourselves because if your quickest car is a minute behind the leader it's just difficult to accept," he added.
