Lewis Hamilton was reportedly left 'exasperated' during a tense team radio exchange with his Ferrari race engineer.
On Friday evening, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion looked to put his recent poor form behind him as he took part in the Miami Grand Prix sprint qualifying.
Despite a better showing than in Saudi Arabia, Hamilton was still a couple of tenths behind teammate Charles Leclerc as the Brit qualified in seventh place, with the Monegasque sixth.
The Ferraris remain quite a bit behind the likes of Mercedes, McLaren and Max Verstappen's Red Bull.

During the qualifying sessions, Hamilton was heard saying on the team radio: "Can you be clear? Just give me the times, sector 1, 2, 3."
To which his race engineer, Riccardo Adami replied: "Half a second first sector, half a second second sector, one tenth last sector. To Piastri that is in P1, 27.3 his time."
As reported by F1 Oversteer, Hamilton sounded a little exasperated as he felt there was a lack of information from Adami.
Towards the end of SQ2, Hamilton again criticised Adami as he barely made it to the start/finish line in time to do a quick lap.

The 40-year-old said: "You’re really confusing, end of lap there… you said I had five seconds left."

Speaking on the back of the qualifying sessions, both Hamilton and Leclerc gave damning verdicts on Ferrari's pace.
Leclerc said: "Bad. The lap was good, but the pace is just not at all there for now, so it's a bit annoying but it's the way it is for now.

"I'll try my best tomorrow to try to do something special with the start, but to be honest, there's not much room for improvement today. It was just… that's the pace of the car."
Hamilton added: "It was a better session. P1 was probably a bit better, the car was a bit better, the car was a bit nicer to drive. We are just lacking speed, but we just keep working from there.
"I think all the cars ahead are faster. I don't know what else to say."
He continued: "There are always ideas. Whether or not they will be right or not...there's definitely learnings to be taken - set-up changes, how the car behaved, there's definitely work to do to pick up speed going into the rest of the weekend."
