A current Formula 1 star has been tipped to drive for Ferrari amid Lewis Hamilton's ongoing struggles.

Prior to the 2025 season, all eyes were on Hamilton and Ferrari after the seven-time world champion's high-profile transfer from Mercedes.

Alongside Charles Leclerc, the Ferrari pair were expected to challenge for wins and podiums.

However, Ferrari's car, the SF-25, has proved to be problematic, and both drivers have largely struggled to extract performance from it.

Currently, Hamilton remains the only Ferrari driver to win this season, after taking the chequered flag first at the Chinese Grand Prix sprint.

However, the Brit has failed to get on the podium in the main race, with Leclerc so far finishing in the top three on seven occasions.

The Monegasque is fifth in the standings with 210 points, 64 points ahead of sixth-placed Hamilton.

Amid Hamilton's struggles, it was recently reported that Ferrari are unlikely to offer the 40-year-old an extension to his deal, which is set to expire after the 2026 season.

Looking ahead, former F1 driver and Sky Sports commentator Martin Brundle has tipped young British driver Oliver Bearman to get the nod at Ferrari should a seat become available.

He said on the Sky Sports F1 Show: "Absolutely outstanding. If you give that young man an opportunity, he'll grab it, like he did in Saudi with the Ferrari drive.

"He kept his head under a lot of pressure, especially in the closing stages with Oscar Piastri's McLaren behind him."

Brundle continued: "He put a move on Max (Verstappen), made it stick, didn't go four wheels off the road, just.

"The moment that there's a seat at Ferrari for whatever reason, then Bearman should be in it as far as I'm concerned. I think he's outstanding and he's learning fast, and he's making the most of his opportunity."

Bearman, 20, currently drives for Haas and impressed during last weekend's Mexico Grand Prix, where he managed to finish in fourth place.

After the race in Mexico, Hamilton was spotted congratulating Bearman's fourth-place finish on social media.

Hamilton took to Instagram to offer his congratulations, commenting on the Haas' post after the race.

"Mega drive today Ollie, really happy for you," he said.

What has Ollie Bearman said about driving for Ferrari?

Last year, Bearman was quizzed on potentially driving for Ferrari in the future.

He replied: “I hope so. I mean, that would be the dream, right?

"It’s not really in my hands. I feel like but all I can do is perform my best, and that’s my goal. Everything that comes after that is not really within my control. I’m focusing on my future with Haas at the moment, and I’m really excited to get started."

F1 returns next weekend with the Brazilian Grand Prix, taking place around the Autódromo José Carlos Pace in Sao Paulo.
