Lando Norris breaks the Internet with eight-word message on Max Verstappen's latest post about George Russell saga

Norris made sure to have his say after winning the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Lando Norris has responded to Max Verstappen's latest Instagram post with another subtle reference to his ongoing feud with George Russell.

Verstappen claimed he had 'lost all respect' for Russell after the Dutchman received a one-place grid penalty at the Qatar Grand Prix.

He was deemed to have driven excessively slowly in front of Russell on his outlap in Q3, but claimed the Brit 'lied' to the stewards over the severity of the infraction.

The feud spilled into the Abu Dhabi weekend, with Russell responding to Verstappen's claims by calling him a 'bully' and alleging that the world champion said he would 'go out of his way' to crash into him - claims which were refuted by the Dutchman.

F1 journalist Adam Cooper reported that Russell had a seat 'reserved' next to his new foe at the traditional end-of-season drivers' dinner on Thursday evening, but moved to the opposite side of the table once he arrived.

The pair did end the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix without incident with each other, though Verstappen received a 10-second penalty for causing a collision with McLaren's Oscar Piastri at the first corner.

The Dutchman ended his season in sixth place, while Russell finished P5 after being overtaken by departing team-mate Lewis Hamilton on the final lap.

The 2025 season will see a major change for Hamilton as he joins Ferrari, while there appears likely to be a change for Verstappen as rumours grow stronger surrounding the immediate future of his under pressure team-mate Sergio Perez.

Taking to Instagram to look back on the season as a whole, the four-time champion wrote: "Congratulations to McLaren for winning the Constructors' Championship. 2024 [tick emoji].

"Thank you so much for the hard work this year @redbullracing. Now ready for some time off!"

Norris then hilariously replied: "Cheers mate, see you next year for more," alongside a 'beef' emoji - a clear reference to the ongoing Russell saga.

The McLaren driver won the season-ending race in Abu Dhabi ahead of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc to win his team the Constructors' Championship for the first time since 1998.

Norris himself finished second in the drivers' standings behind Verstappen - his highest individual placing in his F1 career - with 2025 potentially welcoming in a historic battle between McLaren, Ferrari, Red Bull and even Mercedes.
