Lando Norris overlooked Lewis Hamilton and Max Vertsappen when he was previously asked who his dream F1 teammate would be.
Norris claimed the Drivers’ Championship in 2025, winning the accolade for the first time in his career.
The Englishman pipped Verstappen to top spot, earning 423 points to the Dutchman’s 421 to deny the Red Bull racer a fifth successive championship.
Norris made his Formula One debut in 2019 at the Australian Grand Prix with McLaren, and has raced for the Surrey-based team ever since.

The 26-year-old had to wait a few years before establishing himself as a rival to both Hamilton and Verstappen.
Norris blew his chance of a first F1 win in 2021 after battling Hamilton for first in Russia, and finished second to Verstappen in the 2024 Drivers’ Championship.
Norris praise for McLaren supremos
McLaren have won the Constructors’ Championship the last two years having reaped the rewards after naming Andrea Stella as team principal in 2022.

Norris has spoken fondly of both Stella and McLaren CEO Zak Brown for the work they bring to the table, and named the pair as the dream bosses in an interview back in 2024.
“I’m very happy with Zak,” Norris told the F1 website. “I mean he’s team boss. Obviously, team principal is still Mr Stella. But as a boss, Zak is good, and he’s a golfer, too. When your boss says, ‘Do you want to go and play golf?’, it’s like, ‘Ahh’.”

However, in terms of his ideal teammate, Norris opted to overlook any of the current racers as the dream driving partner.

“Drivers? Jackie Stewart. I love Jackie, so I’d pick Jackie Stewart. And I want to drive alongside Jackie, so I’ll pick myself!” Norris said.
Who is Jackie Stewart?
Stewart raced between 1965 and 1973 and won three world championships during his eight-year career, coming first in 1969, 1971 and 1973.
Nicknamed “The Flying Scot”, Stewart was named Sports Illustrated magazine’s 1973 “Sportsman of the Year”, the only auto racer to have won the award.

In addition, Stewart claimed 17 pole positions during his racing career, won 27 races and claimed 43 podium finishes.
At 86 years of age, Stewart is the oldest living Grand Prix winner and is the last surviving Formula One World Champion from the 1960s.
