A Formula 1 team has announced a driver change in a major shake-up ahead of the 2026 season.
Alpine have confirmed they have reached a mutual agreement with Jack Doohan to part ways following their campaign together in the 2025 season.
A statement read: "BWT Alpine Formula One Team confirms it has reached a mutual agreement with Jack Doohan to not continue his driving services with the team for the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship season and allow him to pursue other career opportunities.
"Jack became the first member of the Alpine Academy to graduate into a race seat with the team when he made his Grand Prix debut at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

"The team would like to thank Jack for his commitment and professionalism to the team for the past four years, both on and off track, and wishes him all the best for the future."

Doohan started the 2025 F1 season alongside Pierre Gasly at Alpine after being promoted from reserve driver with Esteban Ocon leaving the team for Haas at the end of 2024.
Last season, he recorded zero points over six races, including a Lap 1 exit at the Miami Grand Prix, leading to a mid-season replacement by Franco Colapinto, who will join Gasly for the 2026 season.

At the time, the Australian said: "The latest chapter is a tough one.
"I will keep my head down, keep working hard. I will continue to give my maximum efforts in any way I can to help."

Doohan appeared to confirm Alpine's decision after posting a cryptic social media post last month.

He shared a series of emotional photos from the 2025 season, hinting at a departure.
Doohan didn't caption the images, but comments from those close with him established what everyone feared.
"Thanks, broski! It was a pleasure to work with you. See you on track," Alpine race engineer Cristoforo Pirro responded.
"You my friend are an F1 driver. Not many people in history can say that! So proud of you. More of your story still to be written!!” Added Ex-pro surfer Cooper Chapman
