Christian Horner has previously spoken about Lewis Hamilton amid fresh reports linking him to Ferrari.
After 20 years at Red Bull Racing, Horner's long reign as team principal and CEO was ended abruptly this week.
On Wednesday, it was confirmed that Horner has been sacked and replaced by Laurent Mekies, who was promoted from Red Bull's sister team, Visa Cash App Racing Bulls.
Upon confirming the decision to replace Horner, Red Bull director Oliver Mintzlaff said: "We would like to thank Christian Horner for his exceptional work over the last 20 years.

"With his tireless commitment, experience, expertise and innovative thinking, he has been instrumental in establishing Red Bull Racing as one of the most successful and attractive teams in Formula 1. Thank you for everything, Christian, and you will forever remain an important part of our team history."

Moving ahead, Horner's every move will attract heavy interest with Formula 1 set to return at the end of July with the Belgian Grand Prix.
Over the last few months, Horner has been linked with moves to other F1 teams, including rivals Ferrari.

Meanwhile, the 51-year-old has previously been tipped to link up with the controversial Flavio Briatore at Alpine.
After Ferrari's poor start to the campaign, current team boss Frederic Vasseur is under immense pressure to turn things around.
Hamilton produced a brilliant display at last weekend's British Grand Prix, finishing fourth.
If Horner does make a surprise move to Ferrari, he will link up with old rival Hamilton.

He replied: "Look, I think what Lewis has achieved in Formula 1 is second to none, but we’re very happy with the drivers that we have – they’re committed as a pair for not only this season but the next season as well.
"I can’t see where we would be able to accommodate Lewis, but I’m sure they’re [Mercedes] going to sort their issues out and we’re certainly not writing him off yet."
