Manchester City players are set to feature in the upcoming second round of Group Stage matches at the FIFA World Cup.

16 City stars are representing their countries in Qatar, with the first round of matches having concluded on Thursday night.

Jack Grealish scored during England's 6-2 thrashing of Iran, while Ilkay Gundogan slotted home a penalty during Germany's shock loss to Japan.

Julian Alvarez came off the bench during Argentina's surprise defeat to Saudi Arabia and Kevin De Bruyne was named man of match following Belgium's win over Canada.

Away from the tournament Pep Guardiola signed a new two-year contract with the Premier League Champions on Wednesday, as the Catalan and some City first-team players enjoy an unusual mid-season break.
