Manchester City take on Copenhagen at the Etihad Stadium on matchday three of the UEFA Champions League group stage.

Pep Guardiola's side will come in to this one full of confidence, after both their most recent outing and their most recent Champions League outing.

The reigning Premier League champions cruised past city rivals Manchester United on Sunday afternoon in an emphatic 6-3 victory.

It was a day of hat-tricks for the hosts, as Erling Haaland scored his third Premier League treble in as many home matches in the division.

Phil Foden equalled the Norway international's output on the day, scoring his first goal in a Manchester derby but then adding to it on two further occasions.

Manchester City's last clash in Europe's premier club competition also saw yet more magic from Erling Haaland.

The club's summer recruit from Borussia Dortmund scored a late acrobatic effort to come back from behind against his former employers and secure a 2-1 win on the night.

That goal came after an out-of-the-blue strike from John Stones, as the England international centre-back sent an audacious effort from distance into the top corner of the Borussia Dortmund net.

As for FC Copenhagen - who are the visitors to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night - they come in to this one without a win since September 2, meaning their next threat could not be any more challenging.
