Manchester City will face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup fourth round, it has been confirmed.

The Premier League champions progressed to the next round of the competition after defeating Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.

Despite Chelsea testing the Manchester City goal on multiple occasions across the course of 90 minutes, they failed to beat an inspired performance from Stefan Ortega.

Making a remarkable five saves across the night, Ortega preserved a well-earned City clean sheet on the night, and allowed for his teammates to work goals of their own.

It took an impressive Riyad Mahrez free-kick to break the deadlock in the second-half, after the first period of 45 minutes ended goalless.

That strike from the Algerian was followed up by yet another goal for Julian Alvarez, with the Argentine forward impressing while Erling Haaland continues to find full fitness after a foot injury.

That 2-0 win against Graham Potter's side booked Manchester City's place in the fourth round of the competition, with a trophy up for grabs that Pep Guardiola's squad know all too well.

Under the Catalan boss, City have won this tournament four times in the last six seasons - with all successes coming in a row.

Now, following the Carabao Cup fourth round draw on Thursday night, here is the complete list of fixtures for the next round of the competition:
