Manchester City Defender Open To Exit This Summer On One Condition

A series of clubs across Europe have made enquiries about a move for Manchester City's Oleksandr Zinchenko this summer, as per reports.

Oleksandr Zinchenko is open to leaving Manchester City in the summer transfer window amid interest from clubs across the continent, according to a new report.

The Ukraine international has been a key asset for Pep Guardiola in recent seasons, where despite never being a first-choice pick at full-back or his preferred midfield position, the 25-year-old's versatility has spared his side's blushes in times of personnel issues.

With two years left on his current contract at the Etihad Stadium, reports in recent weeks have revealed the Premier League champions will not stand in Zinchenko's way should he seek an exit in the summer.

However, Manchester City are expected to demand a significant fee for the former Shakhtar Donetsk man, who signed for the English giants from Russian outfit Ufa in 2016.

Arsenal are understood to have registered their interest in signing Zinchenko, with Gunners boss Mikel Arteta, who worked with the Manchester City star for two-and-a-half seasons at the Etihad Stadium, keen to use the Ukrainian in midfield.

Moreover, as Manchester City look to secure the arrival of Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella ahead of the new campaign, the door could be left open for Zinchenko to get regular minutes elsewhere, though it is understood he remains happy with the six-time Premier League champions.

As per a new report by Graeme Bailey of 90min, Oleksandr Zinchenko is open to an exit this summer only if his next club would offer him first-team football as a midfielder.

The Manchester City ace has flourished whilst operating as a left-sided midfielder for his country and produced an outstanding, all-round display in Ukraine's 3-1 World Cup Qualifiers triumph over Scotland last week.

With City unable to assure Zinchenko of a starting place in their star-studded ranks, interest has risen in the four-time Premier League winner's services from clubs across Europe ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

There remains interest from Wolves, who were reportedly keen on adding Zinchenko to their ranks following their promotion to the top-flight in 2018, only for the Ukrainian to stay put and seek to fight for a starting spot at Manchester City.

Everton, Leicester and West Ham are believed to have made contact with Zinchenko's representatives should he wish to stay in England amid what continues to be a truly difficult time for the Ukrainian personally due to the state of affairs in his homeland.

Clubs in Germany, Spain, Italy and France have all enquired about Zinchenko, though it is worth noting a potential exit is likely to rely on Manchester City's valuation of their key player, which is believed to be upwards of £30 million.
