Erling Haaland's Manchester City Release Clause Details For 2024 And 2025 Revealed

Erling Haaland's Manchester City Release Clause Details For 2024 And 2025 Revealed

A new report from Spain has detailed Erling Haaland's separate release clauses for 2024 and 2025, following Real Madrid's keen interest.

A new report this week has detailed Erling Haaland's two different release clauses in his Manchester City contract for 2024 and 2025.

Given the global profile of the player, it is hardly unsurprising to see that the contractual future of Haaland is being speculated at every given opportunity.

The 21 year-old is yet to have even met his new fans while reports concerning his future beyond the Etihad Stadium is already being discussed.

This is largely being peddled by Spanish media, with La Liga giants Real Madrid known to have been Manchester City's main competitor for the player this summer.

Nevertheless, it was the Etihad officials who came out on top, securing the player for a £51 million price tag.

This week, new information has emerged from Spain concerning the player's reported release clause in his City contract - which are said to be different depending on the year in which they are being activated.

According to the information of Spanish newspaper Marca, Erling Haaland has two different release clause amounts embedded into his newly-signed Manchester City contract.

It is claimed that at the end of his second year of contract - the summer of 2024 - a club will be able to sign the Norway international for a sum of €200 million.

Furthermore, at the end of his third year of contract - the summer of 2025 - a club will then have the opportunity to sign the Manchester City forward for a sum of €175 million.

However, the report highlights that these figures cannot be activated by a club immediately.

According to Marca, the availability of such clauses in Haaland's contract are linked to achieving minimum sporting objectives at Manchester City - although these are not specified.

It is stated that once these objectives have been completed by Haaland during his time with the club, the player will then have the possibility of terminating the contract via either of the release clauses - whichever is most current at the time of asking.

Erling Haaland became Manchester City's first signing of the ongoing summer transfer window.

Club officials had prioritised the recruitment of a new star name in the striker position, following the exit of Sergio Aguero last summer and the failure to replace him in the same year.

Following the completion of the deal for the Bundesliga forward, City quickly refocused, and announced new signings in quick succession in recent days.
