Manchester City make the trip to Tyneside as they look to maintain their perfect start to the Premier League campaign against Newcastle on Sunday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola's side enter their meeting with the Magpies off the back of consecutive wins.

A dominating display on the opening day of the season saw the Blues pick up a neat 2-0 victory against West Ham, with Erling Haaland netting a brace on his Premier League debut.

The Norwegian has settled in quickly after making a £51 million move from Borussia Dortmund to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Whilst Bernardo Silva has not started a Premier League game so far this season, Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan have picked up right where they left off last season.

Both were on the scoresheet last time out as City bagged a 4-0 win over Scott Parker's Bournemouth, with Phil Foden also getting in on the act.

City are set to fly out to Spain directly after their game with Newcastle to hold warm weather training in Girona ahead of their charity friendly with Barcelona on Wednesday.

The Premier League champions will return to England on Thursday to prepare for their league tie with Crystal Palace next weekend.

With the games set to come thick and fast for Guardiola's men, the Manchester City manager will be keen on avoiding any early slip-ups in his side's bid to win three league titles on the spin.

Guardiola confirmed ahead of the game Kalvin Phillips and Cole Palmer are back in contention after missing the win over Bournemouth.

Aymeric Laporte and John Stones remain on the sidelines but are recovering well ahead of a potential return for the centre-back pair in the near future.
