Tyson Fury v Anthony Joshua superfight at major risk just hours after official confirmation with replacement named

Tyson Fury has released a statement claiming his blockbuster Anthony Joshua could already be called off and a replacement fighter has already emerged.

Just hours after the official fight announcement, Fury v Joshua could already be at risk of collapsing, and it is reportedly all because of UFC boss Dana White.

Throughout negotiations for the fight, White has claimed to be heavily involved in the promotion something that, since the announcement, Fury has claimed is looking likely to force Joshua and promoter Eddie Hearn to pull out of the bout.

With reports suggesting that White had hoped to ensure that Fury v Joshua, the biggest fight in British boxing history, would take place in the United States, Hearn worked tirelessly to secure Cardiff's Principality Stadium as the venue.

Since the announcement, White's involvement, or lack thereof, has continued to be a major sticking point for Hearn and Joshua, seemingly prompting Fury to take to social media and slam the pair for 'trying to pull out' of the superfight.

Speaking on Instagram, Fury claimed: “Breaking news, Anthony Joshua and Eddie Hearn are trying to pull out of this fight, they’re saying they’re not going to fight now, they’re little s***house cowards.

“It’s mainly to do with Eddie Hearn’s ego. They’re making up a million different things and threatening they’re not going to fight. ‘We’re not going to fight, we’re not going to fight’.

“You little coward. AJ, pull your finger out you little white-flagged, yellow belly coward.

“Now I’m coming home. The Gypsy King is coming back to the United Kingdom, to thrash you in front of all my fans in Wales.

“You absolute little nugget. Bodybuilding sausage and now you’re making a million excuses. Now you’ve got Turki Al-Sheikh finding alternative real men who will fight at the drop of a hat.

“So I hope you are happy, you little cowardly b******s. I’ve never seen anything like you, you pure s***houses. And this is mainly to do with Eddie Hearn’s ego, what a little p****. It’s cost us the biggest fight in boxing history. Clown.”

It's unclear if the situation surrounding White is what caused this outburst from Fury, but it comes after it was revealed that current contracts state that the fight must happen in the UK and that White must not be involved in any way.

Clearly reacting to this revelation, White himself took to social media to share a photo of him on a video call with Turki Al-Sheikh while smoking a cigar, further playing into the rumours about his involvement.

In a separate video, Fury further alluded to the situation, adding: So Eddie Hearn’s ego is trying to cost us and all the boxing fans around the world the fight that everyone’s waited for, for over a decade.

“And it is all because Eddie doesn’t want someone in the building. Isn’t that a bit pathetic and childish?

“He doesn’t want someone in the building like he’s nine-years-old and doesn’t like them.

“You absolute nugget. You little silver spooned w***er. You’re not a man of your work, you little back out p***y.

“And Joshua, you ought to be ashamed of yourself. You want this and you want that."

Anthony Joshua replacement named as Tyson Fury fight at risk of collapse

Typically, Fury's social media rants wouldn't be something worth taking as gospel as the Gypsy King has been known to intentionally cause drama online ahead of a big fight.

But, not long after his video was posted, Ring Magazine’s Mike Coppinger claimed that alternative fights to replace Fury v Joshua are already being worked on over fears the fight could fall apart due to the tensions surronding White's role.

He claims that unbeaten cruiserweight champion David Benavidez is being eyed up as a replacement to fight Fury should Joshua pull out of the bout.

Meanwhile if the fight were to fall apart completely, an alternative bout between Ryan Garcia and Terence Crawford, who retired last year, could take its place.
