Luke Littler calls out Eddie Hearn after Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury date confirmed

Luke Littler has voiced his frustration over the decision to schedule Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua's fight on the same date as the opening day of the PDC World Darts Championship.

On Thursday, it was finally confirmed that the long-awaited showdown between Fury and Joshua will take place at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on Friday, December 11.

The card is expected to begin on Friday, although promoter Eddie Hearn has suggested the main event will begin at 1:00am UK time, meaning the bout is set to spill into the early hours of Saturday morning.

Meanwhile in London, the opening night of this year's PDC World Darts Championship will play out at the Alexandra Palace on December 11, four days earlier than last year's opener.

Of course, the World Championship sessions often begin at 12:30pm UK time, with evening sessions getting underway at 7pm, so some players could miss out on the opening stages of the much-anticipated event.

Reigning champion Luke Littler might just be one of those people, a scenario he clearly isn't too pleased about.

Taking to his Instagram story on Thursday evening, Littler appeared to criticise the decision to schedule Fury vs Joshua on the same day as the PDC World Darts Championship, calling out the Hearn family.

"A message to the Hearn's, what is this?" he began.

"Opening night of the World Championship (World champion plays on opening night 11th December) and you put one of the biggest fights in Britain on the same night. You had one job."

Hearn, who was adamant that the contest would not take place in the United States, reacted to the fight announcement by thanking the British public for their support.

Writing on X, the Matchroom chief said he is "forever indebted" to the UK public for their support of Anthony Joshua.

That being said, Hearn is still not entirely happy.

A press conference is scheduled to take place in London on 30 September, but the promoter is furious that the press release states that Dana White is collaborating with Alalshikh for the fight, which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Speaking to IFL TV, Hearn said: "The f***ery involved in this fight — and we'll come onto the fact that even Netflix put out a press release, 'the fight will be in conjunction with Dana White.' There's loads of battles to come on that because that ain't happening either."

Hearn added that conversations will need to take place with Netflix. "I'll be speaking to Netflix to remind them of their contractual obligations and it'll be dealt with it like we dealt with the other situation," he continued.

"These people make it very, very difficult for themselves. We're supposed to have a presser next week — now, we have stuff to sort out."
