Floyd Mayweather demanded an astonishing £10,000 to appear on popular podcast

Mayweather was asked for a quote and replied with a five-figure sum.

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather demanded a £10,000 fee to appear on one of the UK's most popular podcasts.

The 50-0 fighter is nicknamed 'Money' and has an estimated net worth of $450 million.

Mayweather has made a number of investments since retirement and commands a high fee for appearances.

It's something the True Geordie found out when he tried to book the 46-year-old for an episode of the 'True Geordie Podcast' previously.

True Geordie has nearly 2 million subscribers on YouTube and a number of sports stars have appeared on the show, including Logan Paul, Kieran Trippier, Tyson Fury and The Undertaker.

He sent the feelers out to a friend of Mayweather's regarding a potential link-up and received a huge price back.

"I once asked to get Floyd Mayweather on the podcast you know," True Geordie told guest Deji, who fought Mayweather in Dubai late last year. "This is what made me wonder about his finances.

"I thought ‘you know, 'I’ll ask' and I got through, through the friend of a friend. I got quoted ten grand to have him on the podcast.

"I thought, 'I don’t know what to make of that'. If you’ve got loads of money, why quote me ten grand?

"I just think that everything is for a price with him and maybe that’s just him being smart. But I didn’t pay it."

Mayweather retired from professional competition in 2017 after defeating UFC superstar Conor McGregor in an huge inter-promotional bout.

He's since returned for a number of exhibitions, with his most recent victory coming against John Gotti III.
