Tyson Fury Prepares for Life After Boxing with New Career

Tyson Fury ruled out a return to the ring after suffering back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk.

Tyson Fury could be set to make a significant career change after claiming he will not return to the ring.

Not for the first time, the two-time world heavyweight champion claimed he had retired from the sport following back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk.

Despite stating that he was robbed and won both fights, Fury announced he was calling time on his glittering career.

However, after Fury's promoter Frank Warren and Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh fuelled talk of a comeback when they said the Gypsy King was ready to return, Anthony Joshua predicted that an all-British affair between them "will happen".

Despite the noise, Fury recently sat down for an interview with FurociTV and did not sound keen to make a return in between the ropes, stating: "There’s no actual reason for me to go back in the boxing ring. I’m 37 years old, I’ve been punched for the last 25 years, what do I want to go back to boxing for?”

Having made millions from boxing, Fury is involved in various other ventures and has his hands full being a father of seven.

But Spencer Brown, his manager and close friend, believes he may well be set for a different role within boxing - potentially joining him in the promotional game with Goldstar promotions.

Fury, along with Alalshikh, came up with concept and Brown thinks he may get involved when it comes to the upcoming bout for Agit Kabayel.

Kabayel's last three fights have been in Saudi Arabia but on January 10 he is returning to his native Germany for a defence of his WBC interim heavyweight title.

Fury has thrown his support behind Kabayel but could increase that in the near future, according to Brown.

"Whether Tyson does come back – who knows? Has he got an itch he wants to scratch? Maybe,” Brown told Boxing News.

“But, at the moment, he seems to be very happy. His new Netflix documentary finishes soon, and then we might hear a bit more news.

“I speak to him everyday and see him three or four times a week.”

He added: "They go back a long way, him and Kabayel, and we’re just doing a deal with Tyson now for him to join Goldstar.

“He’s been behind Goldstar for a long time – it was him and Turki Alalshikh who created it. I just came up with the name, but they pushed it forward.

“[Fury] would be a co-promoter if he does jump on board, and I’m sure he will.”
