Carl Froch drops major update on John Fury fight after public call out

Fury has challenged Froch to a fight on the undercard of his son's comeback fight against Arslanbek Makhmudov.

Carl Froch has claimed John Fury is making "unreasonable demands" during talks over a potential fight, after an offer worth "seven figures" was put in front of him.

Last month, at a press conference for Tyson Fury's comeback fight against Arslan Makhmudov, a furious John Fury stormed around the venue to try and find long-term adversary Carl "The Cobra" Froch.

Fury interrupted Netflix's coverage of the event and could be heard shouting at Froch, who was on punditry duty alongside Lennox Lewis and presenter Anna Woolhouse.

He repeatedly shouted, "Run like a f***ing b***h" before proposing that the pair settle their defences inside the ring on the undercard of Fury vs Makhmudov, a fight that will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

"Where do you want to fight at, mate?" said Fury in a callout video. "We’ll do it in the ring, under the lights. I’ll fight you at Tottenham in eight weeks' time. Me and you, Tottenham, undercard, eight weeks."

Froch proceeded to accept the challenge. "I feel like I'm the chosen one," he said in a video on his Froch on Fighting YouTube channel. "I feel like it might be my job to finally shut this big gobs***e up."

Fury responded by explaining how he was preparing for a fight against Froch.

"Running, bare knuckle, heavy bag, eating, living in the woods, chopping trees, eating the filth of the earth," he said. "I'm doing it gypsy style, I'm gonna prove to everybody out there, where there's a will there's a way."

The 60-year-old, who revealed that some of the proceeds from a proposed fight would go to charity, also urged broadcasters to get in touch with offers.

"If you want to be privy to all of this, contact me. Let's hope you got some deep pockets," he added. 'll wait to hear from you."

Carl Froch provides "major update" on talks surrounding fight with John Fury

Two weeks after Fury's plea and former four-time super-middleweight champion Froch has claimed there has been interest from broadcasters around a fight deal.

However, he says Fury has been making "unreasonable demands" that involve his son. Tommy.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Froch began: "I mean, he talks some waffle, doesn't he? But it's gone to the stage where the broadcasters are quite interested, and he's making demands now, unreasonable demands about trying to get Tommy Fury on to fight before him and me.

"He's basically put a blockade in there with his son, Tommy, which is ridiculous, because let's be honest, no one gives a shit about Tommy fighting. Who cares? We watched him against Jake Paul, watched that fight. And Tommy's done nothing since. He pulled out against Darren Till and he's done f*** all since.

"It's big John Fury running his mouth, big gobshite, making a load of noise, making a nuisance of himself. Then he gets offered the opportunity. He's been offered the opportunity before to fight Joe Egan, let's be honest. And he bottled it.

"Joe Egan's the big one. Joe Egan stuck it on him and put loads out there to say, 'I’ll fight you.' And Misfits would probably show that."

Froch went on to claim that a seven-figure offer is on the table.

"John Fury has no intentions of fighting anybody, including Joe Egan and myself," Froch continued. "And he's had the option put in front of him. It’s going to be X amount of pounds. And it's seven figures as well. And he just said, 'Oh no, I want to get Tommy on,' and made an excuse and talked b******s, talked his way out of it.

"So next time you see him ranting and raving and calling anybody out and saying he'll fight anybody, just know that he's absolutely talking pure gobs**** because that's what he does. So the guy just needs to go away. He needs ignoring. I mean, I ignored him last time. That's why, because I know he's just full of s***. But now it's been confirmed."
