Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was arrested by ICE agents following his defeat to Jake Paul.

Footage of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. being arrested has emerged as he faces deportation from the United States just days after his fight against Jake Paul.

Paul beat Chavez Jr. by unanimous decision in Anaheim, California, to improve his boxing record to 12-1.

The judges' scorecards emerged on social media following the result of the contest as fans were all in agreement.

Paul called out Gervonta Davis and Anthony Joshua after his victory and was also involved in an online spat with Piers Morgan.

As for Chavez Jr., he faces deportation from the United States following his arrest in Studio City, Los Angeles on Thursday.

The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested the 39-year-old and plan to deport him to Mexico, where he has an active arrest warrant for his involvement in organised crime.

US officials say he is affiliated with the notorious Mexican Sinaloa drug cartel. His lawyer denied the claims.

A lawyer for Chavez Jr. called his arrest 'nothing more than another headline to terrorise the Latin community'.

A video of his arrest has since been published on social media, showing the moment the ex-world champion was detained by ICE agents.

The clip shows Chavez Jr. being handcuffed and searched.

Homeland Security issued a statement in the wake of Chavez Jr.'s arrest.

On X, they wrote: "On July 2, ICE arrested Mexican boxer and criminal illegal alien Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

"He is now being processed for expedited removal from the United States. This Sinaloa Cartel affiliate has an active arrest warrant in Mexico for his involvement in organized crime and trafficking firearms, ammunitions and explosives.

"Under President Trump, NO ONE is above the law - including world-famous athletes. Our message to any cartel affiliates in the U.S. is clear: We will find you and you will face consequences. The days of unchecked cartel violence are over."

Chavez Jr. is a veteran of 63 professional fights and captured the world middleweight title, beating Sebastian Zbik to win the WBC belt.

He also fought the likes of Sergio Martinez and Canelo Alvarez during his legendary boxing career.
